The top cowboys and cowgirls will be in Hermiston this week for the 27th annual Farm-City Pro Rodeo that gets under way Wednesday evening.
The opening night also happens to be Family Night at the Farm-City Pro Rodeo. Children 12 and under get in for just $5. Youth and Ag Night takes place Thursday and will feature six teams consisting of two FFA members competing in Elmer’s Irrigation calf dressing competition. That event gets started at 7:30 p.m.
The rodeo kicks off each night at 7:45 p.m., culminating with the championship performance on Saturday night. Farm-City has a $13,500 purse for each event ($27,000 for the team roping competition). Contestants will try to earn as much money as possible to qualify for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in December.
