Four Hermiston City Council seats are up for grabs in May and three of them feature contested races.

Incumbent Lori Davis will face off against Jesus Rome for the Ward 1 seat. Davis was first elected to the council in 2010. In Ward 2, Clara Beas Fitzgerald will run unopposed for the seat currently held by Councilor George Anderson, who announced earlier this year that he would not run again.

Longtime Councilor Jackie Myers will face James Leitch in the race for the Ward 3 seat. In Ward 4, Doug Smith will run against Cameron Bendixsen to succeed Frank Harkenrider, who also announced he would not seek re-election.

Hermiston Mayor Dave Drotzmann will run unopposed for a second term, and Hermiston Municipal Court Judge Thomas Creasing will not face a challenger as he seeks re-election.

The election will be held on May 20.
