A 47-year-old male from Umatilla County is among the now 79 people who died during the recent heat wave.
As of July 1, the State Medical Examiner’s Office has received reports of 79 deaths that preliminary investigation suggests may be associated with the Pacific Northwest heatwave.
The 79 people who have died range in age from 44 to 94.
This number may change in either direction as more information or reports are received from each County Medical Examiner’s Office.
