98% Angels to Perform Free Concert in in Irrigon on Monday

The singing duo 98% Angels will perform for the Music in the Parks outdoor summer concert series on Monday, July 1 at the Irrigon Marina Park at 7 p.m.

Azetatos is a pop rock band formed in 2018 from the Tri Cities. The members are experienced musicians, united by friendship. Azetatos has played venues all around the Mid-Columbia region.

98% Angels, otherwise known as Marie Rose and Renate Meakins, first met and began singing together in 1998 in the Blue Jazz Choir Ensemble while attending Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton. Since then, the duo has performed in shows around the area such as the Irrigon Watermelon Festival, Umatilla Landing Days, the Hermiston Variety Show and the Amboy Territorial Days. The ladies also volunteer their time singing in local assisted living homes. The style of music they perform ranges from 1930s standards, Big Band Swing music, hits of the ‘50s and the ‘60s, and popular contemporary and country tunes. They will also take time that evening to honor those men and women who have served in our armed forces.

The Music in the Parks concert series is held each summer alternating between Boardman and Irrigon Marina Parks. The concerts are free to the public and begin at 7 p.m. on Mondays through Aug. 12. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Concessions will be available for purchase at the Boardman events, courtesy of the Boardman Little League. The Music in the Parks series is funded by the Morrow County Unified Recreation District and Portland General Electric and sponsored by the North Morrow Community Foundation.
