State Rep. Greg Smith (R-Heppner) will again be the the Republican Party nominee for the House District 57 seat.
Smith defeated Raymond Akers of Boardman with 75 percent of the vote (4,531 votes) while Akers received 24 percent or 1, 459 votes.
No Democrat ran in the primary so Smith will go on to win his November race and serve his 13th term in the Oregon House.
“I would like to say thank you to each and every constituent within District 57,” said Smith. “It has been an honor to serve for the past 24 years, and I look forward to the next two.”
