Agustin Lopez Torres of Hermiston passed away in Portland on July 5, 2024 at the age of 78.
He was born on May 28, 1946 in Michoacan, Mexico to Quirino Torres and Adelina Lopez.
Agustin grew up in Colima, Mexico. In his 20s he moved to the United States and lived and worked in California for several years. He moved to Hermiston in the late 1970s, where he had resided since. He worked in agriculture during his career and was a very dedicated and hard-working man who often held two full-time jobs at the same time.
Agustin was an avid fisherman, enjoyed remodeling and working on his home, collected vintage Ford Courier pickups, and enjoyed working on vehicles.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Torres; eight children, Daniel, Angelica, Elizabeth, Jessica, Jennifer, Agustin, Quirino and Clarissa; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five siblings, Abraham, Fidel, Jovita, Jesus and Ester; and many extended family members.
Viewing will be held on Monday, July 15 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Burns Mortuary Chapel.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6 p.m. at the Burns Mortuary Chapel.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.
