James W. “Jim” Springer of Heppner died on Oct. 25, 2024 in Heppner at the age of 72.
He was born on April 20, 1952 in Longview, Wash. to Theron and Dorothy Davis Springer.
Jim was raised in Baker City. He joined the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge, when he returned to Baker City. He worked for most of his life in construction. Jim married Shanna Nave on June 17, 1991 in La Grande. They have lived in Heppner.
Jim enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, playing pool, shuffleboard and listening to acoustic music.
He is survived by his wife, Shanna Nave, Heppner; step daughter, Kami Jo Springer, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Terry and Steve Springer; and a sister, Rebecca Henry.
A private family service will be held.
