Scott Andrew Symionow of Hermiston passed away in Hermiston on May 15, 2025 at the age of 60.
He was born on Dec. 18, 1964 in Fort Benton, Mont. to Peter “Pete” and Helen Deichert Symionow.
Scott moved with his family to Hermiston in 1967, where he had resided since. He attended schools in Hermiston and graduated with honors from Hermiston High School in the class of 1983. In his youth, he played in Little League baseball. He was a pitcher and had the opportunity to go to state one year. He attended Blue Mountain Community College, where he received an associate’s degree in auto, body and fender repair.
Scott began working in sanitation for Lamb Weston on weekends when he was a senior in high school. He had stayed with Lamb Weston for a total of 42 years and currently held the position of a raw product evaluator.
Scott was a big fan of Mustang cars and still had his Mustang that he drove while in high school. He always enjoyed working on Mustangs. One of his favorite pastimes was playing skip-bo. He was willing to give a hand to someone in need. He was very charitable.
He is survived by his parents, Pete and Helen Symionow; brother, Todd Symionow; and several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by all of his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m., also at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.
Family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
