HERMISTON, Ore.-The school year is winding down and several fun and educational activities are available throughout the region to help kids stay active and engaged over the summer.
Irrigon
- Irrigon Summer Programs. June 23-July 31 at Irrigon Marina Park and ACH school. Free for all Irrigon enrolled students. Activities include arts and crafts, science projects, reading, board games, sports and swimming.

Boardman
- Fun-Tastic Kidz.Summer Camp. June 16-July 24. Free camp is suitable for kids ages 5-13. Registration open online until June 6.
- Teen Summer at Marina Park located at 1. West Marine Drive. Three sessions available for teens ages 13-17. Registration is free until June 6. For more information contact sariaht@boardmanorprd.gov.

Umatilla
- Golf Camp. July 7-11. Kids ages 6-14 will get instructions on the basics of golf at Big River Golf Course. Registration is $60 and can be done online.

- Academy of Children’s Theater Camp. July 14-18 at the Umatilla Community Center. Elementary age campers will prepare a play based on the book “Where the Wild Things Are,” while middle and high school age campers will work from “Alice in Wonderland.” Registration is $50 for residents and $55 for nonresidents and is available online.

- Movies in the Park. Free event on July 11 and August 1 at Umatilla Marina Park at dusk.
- Water Palooza. July 19 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Umatilla Marina Park. Free event includes a giant slip and slide, an inflatable obstacle course, games and hot dogs.

- Umatilla Public Library Summer Reading Program. Free program for kids, teens and adults runs June 2-July 31. Registration available online or at the library. Participants track their reading for a chance to win prizes.
Hermiston
- Summer Day Camp. June 23-August 15 at Westpark Elementary. Eight week camp for kids in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Camp runs from 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. and lunch is provided. Registration costs $125 per week and is open online.

- Hermiston Public Library Summer Reading Program. Sign up and track your reading from June 16-July 31 for the chance to win prizes. Free and open to all ages.
- Umatilla Electric Cooperative’s Hydromania Summer Science Camp. For students who have completed 4th or 5th Camp focuses on science, water, the environment and energy and includes experiments and field trips. Registration is free and open online.
- Community Memorial Service and Live Butterfly Release. June 21 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Victory Square Park. Kid activities will include face painting and hair tinsel, butterfly capes and kites, ice cream and a silent auction of butterfly-themed arts and crafts. Families can pre-register to release butterflies online.
- Fun @ the Fair Camp. August 5-8 on the Umatilla County Fairgrounds includes arts and crafts, games, dancing and a behind-the-scenes look at the fair. The camp costs $100.
Stanfield
- Summer Soccer League. June 21-July 26. Ages 3-6 will play on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 6–11-year-olds will play on Saturdays. Registration is open until June 11 through Stanfield Parks and Recreation.

Pendleton
- Young Eagles Flight Rally. June 21 at the Eastern Oregon Regional Airport. Kids ages 8-17 can get a free airplane ride around the Pendleton area. Registration is open and available online.

- Movies in the Park on July 18 and 25, and August 1,8 and 15 at Community Park East off Southwest 37th Street
- Summer Basketball Camp. August 4-8, sessions available for kids ages 3-5, 6-9 and 10-13. Register online through Pendleton Parks and Recreation.
- Summer Adventure Camp. June 16-August 15 at Community Park West from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Camp is open to children in first through seventh grade and costs $90 per week. Registration is open online.
- Summer Art Camp at the Studio. Camp suitable for ages 5-13 runs Tuesdays through Thursdays from June until August. Registration is open online and closes a week before each class.

- Teen Adventure Camp Outdoors (TACO). July 9, 16 and 23. Camp offers single-day adventures for teens in 7th through 10th Cost is $60 per adventure and registration is available through Pendleton Parks and Recreation.
La Grande
- La Grande High School Soccer Camp. June 24-26 at La Grande Middle School Field. For boys and girls in first through eighth grade. Costs $50 and registration is available online through La Grande Parks and Recreation.
- La Grande Parks and Recreation will be hosting camps all summer long. Home base for the camps will be in the classroom at Veterans’ Memorial Pool. The camps cost $60 for a half-day and $100 for a full day. Registration is open online.
- Blast Off Into Summer Camp. June 16-20.
- Science and Stuff Camp. June 23-27.
- Sports For All Camp. June 30-July 3.
- Crafty Camp. July 7-11.
- What’s In the Box Camp. July 14-18.
- Little Engineers Camp. July 21-25.
