Good Shepherd Health Community Health Foundation Opens Fall 2025 Grant Cycle – Due by July 31

HERMISTON, OR – The Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation (GSCHF) announces the opening of its Fall 2025 Grant Cycle, inviting local nonprofit organizations and public agencies to submit proposals for initiatives that advance community health and well-being. Applications must be submitted online by July 31, 2025, through the Foundation’s grant portal at https://gschfgrants.awardspring.com.

“We are proud to support organizations that are making a difference in the lives of our neighbors,” said Liz Marvin, Executive Director of GSCHF. “Through our grantmaking, we aim to empower local leaders and support sustainable efforts that improve health, wellness, and quality of life across Western Umatilla and Morrow counties.”

In 2024 alone, the Foundation awarded a total of $222,702 across two funding cycles, supporting projects ranging from access to basic needs and wellness programs to education and youth development.

Spring 2025 Grant Awards

In the most recent Spring 2025 grant cycle, the Foundation recommended a total of $77,287 in funding to support the following projects:

  • Stanfield Senior Center – $4,630 for acoustic ceiling and wall panels to improve sound quality.
  • Boardman Food Pantry – $1,500 for nutritious food access.
  • Echo Heritage Association – $4,857 for the Red to Red Trail maintenance and signage.
  • Sweet Potatoes Closet – $5,000 for hygiene supplies including diapers and wipes.
  • SMART Reading – $5,000 for children’s books in the local area.
  • Made to Thrive – $16,500 for the Boardman Recreation Center memberships and youth athletic gear.
  • Ione School – $3,750 to support a motivational speaker for regional middle/high schools.
  • Hermiston JR Bulldogs Football – $9,800 for youth football safety equipment.
  • Umatilla County Fire District #1 – $24,750 for firefighter personal protective gear.
  • Dam Good Run – $1,500 to support free race participation for youth.

These awards reflect GSCHF’s commitment to supporting diverse community-led initiatives that address local health needs in creative and impactful ways.
