HERMISTON, Ore.-Melon Fest, a summer celebration of Hermiston’s world-famous watermelons, is set for the downtown area on August 16.
“Whether you’re dressed like a melon or just hungry for one, there’s something for everyone,” said Brandon Artz, Hermiston Parks & Recreation Director.
Presented by the City of Hermiston and the Hermiston Downtown District, Melon Fest is a family-friendly event featuring live music, vendors, a car show, friendly competitions and, of course, free slices of Hermiston watermelon from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
More information and contest sign-ups, including for the famous Melon Fest Bathtub Races, where teams of three race wheeled bathtubs down festival street, are available online.
