HERMISTON, Ore.-Residents have a new tool to stay connected and informed about city government and the Hermiston community.
Ask Hermiston, which allows residents to engage in open dialogue with the City by asking questions, launched on September 4.
“Our goal is to create a stronger connection between residents and the City as we provide reliable information and answers to all kinds of questions,” said Byron Smith, Hermiston City Manager.
According to the City, questions submitted to Ask Hermiston will be answered in a short video by City of Hermiston staff, or a response will be generated instantly by AI, based on previous answers.
Ask Hermiston is intended as a tool for the City to connect with residents, create transparency, and improve access to community information. City staff will be aware of all questions submitted to ensure that all the information provided in answers is accurate and current.
“Finding reliable information can be challenging, but this tool will add transparency as we build the community together,” said Smith.
