Let ‘er Buck at the 115th Pendleton Round-Up Sept. 6-13

PENDLETON, Ore.- The iconic Pendleton Round-Up, a 115-year tradition, returns with a week of community events and rodeo action September 6-13.

Since its inception in 1910, the Pendleton Round-Up has evolved into a premier celebration of western heritage, rodeo excellence, volunteerism and community spirit, featuring parades, concerts, rodeo action and a night pageant.

Round-Up week festivities get underway with a Dress Up Parade on Saturday, September 6. The parade starts at 10 a.m. in downtown Pendleton and concludes at the Round-Up grounds at 11:30 a.m.

A kickoff concert on Saturday night featuring Tracy Lawrence and Rodney Atkins will start at 7 p.m. at the Happy Canyon Arena.

The 36th Annual Pendleton Round-Up Foundation Memorial Golf Tournament will tee off September 8 at the Pendleton Country Club.

Slack rodeo events, including breakaway, team roping, and barrel racing are also scheduled for September 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Pendleton Round-Up Stadium, followed by the Xtreme Bulls Finale in the Happy Canyon Arena at 8 p.m.

More slack and Xtreme Bulls Finale action will be held on September 9.

The VFW Outdoor Cowboy Breakfast starts the first official day of the Pendleton Round-Up Rodeo on September 10 and will be held daily through the 13th in Stillman Park from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m.

The Round-Up will start at 1:15 p.m. daily September 10-13, followed by nightly performances of the Happy Canyon Night Show, a live depiction of the Native American way of life and the settlement of the West, at 7:45 p.m.

The annual Westward Ho Parade starts at 10 a.m. on September 12 in downtown Pendleton. No motor vehicles are allowed in the parade that features horses, oxen, wagons and other early forms of transportation, as well as Native Americans in full regalia and marching bands.

The Pendleton Round-Up Finals start at 1:15 p.m. on September 13.
