Pauline M. “Polly” Van De Brake passed away on October 30, 2025 at her home in Stanfield, Oregon at the age of 90.
Van De Brake was born on December 29, 1934 in Lake Stevens, Washington to parents Charlie and Mary Stevens.
Polly was raised and attended school in Lake Stevens, graduating from Lake Stevens High School in the class of 1953. She was united in marriage to Cliff Van De Brake on February 9, 1957 in Redmond, Washington. They lived in the Seattle, Washington area until 1974 when they moved to Oregon, settling in Hermiston in 1976. They owned and operated Van De Brake Trucking from 1977 until 2002. They moved to Stanfield in 1996, where she had lived since.
Polly was an active member of the Good Shepherd Hospital Auxiliary for 22 years and a member of the grange for 25 years; donated and repaired stuffed animals for state and city police departments, Domestic Violence Services and Hermiston and Pendleton hospitals and fire departments; and donated to the Christmas Community Dinners. Polly was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her son, Blaine (Linda) Van De Brake; grandchildren, Kelsey (George) Gray and Brandon (Cristine) Van De Brake; honorary daughter, Sue Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
