Ruby Joyce Anderson Jensen of Hermiston passed away on Dec. 18, 2025 at Good Shepherd Medical Center at the age of 88, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on Feb. 26, 1937 in Blackfoot, Idaho, she was the daughter of Ruby Kingford and Andrew Anderson and the last surviving of six siblings.
Ruby married LaVon Jensen in 1955 and together they traveled through his Air Force career before settling in Spokane, Wash., where they raised their family. In 1977, they moved to Hermiston, where Ruby worked for many years at Lamb Weston and became well known as “Joyce in the tool room.”
Remembered for her strength, humor, and unmistakable grit, Ruby is survived by her children, Curtis Jensen, Daryl Jensen, Karla Sandoval, and Kadine Jensen, along with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVon Jensen and by her children, Kalowa Smith, Alan Jensen, and Kathleen Jensen – losses she carried with remarkable strength and grit throughout her life.
Services were held on Dec. 23, 2025.
