Eunice Aldrich Passes Away at 97

Eunice M. Aldrich passed away on March 26, 2026 in Hermiston at the age of 97 with her family at her side.

She was born on Nov. 14, 1928 to Henry Francis Miller and Bertha Ellen Heady Miller in Yakima, Wash.

Eunice grew up in Irrigon and attended schools there. She graduated from Irrigon High School in 1947 and that is where she met the love of her life, Leonard Aldrich. They married on Sept. 22, 1948. In 1950, they were blessed with a daughter, Barbara and in 1953 a son, Bruce. They lived in Irrigon until 1960 when they moved to Hermiston.

Eunice enjoyed bowling in her earlier years, bowling with the women’s league and traveling on many bowling trips. She and Leonard were also avid golfers and played many golf courses, including in Hawaii with their dear friends. Eunice also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard Aldrich; daughter, Barbara Dames (Gordon); son, Bruce Aldrich (Lavon); granddaughters, Jennifer McCartney and Mandi Langton; grandson, Trevor Aldrich; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Eunice was preceded in death by her mother and father; sister, Ellen Anderson; brother, Donald Miller; step sisters, Shirley Hancock and Audrey Castle; and step brothers, Bob Meyers and Jim Meyers.

At her request, there will be no services.
