HERMISTON, Ore.-The Hermiston Chamber of Commerce and Edward Jones Financial Advisor Devin Bailey hosted a ribbon-cutting and open house on May 14.
“It seems like you’re made for this job,” Val Hoxie, Executive Director of the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce, said of Bailey before the ribbon cutting. “We’re hearing good things, and we’re happy to have you.”
Bailey began the lengthy process of becoming a financial advisor last July, and after four-and-a-half months of rigorous coursework, passed his certification tests.
“It’s been a fun ride so far,” said Bailey, who began seeing clients in December. “I’m just excited to be serving the community I grew up and reside in.”
According to Bailey, the role of Financial Advisor is built on relationships, and when potential clients contact him, he holds an initial 30-minute to one-hour meeting to help determine their goals.
“I’ve been here for 32 years, I love talking to people and hearing their stories,” said Bailey. “I take the puzzle pieces and come up with solutions to help people get closer to their next adventure, whether that’s a vacation, retirement, or something else.”
Bailey cut the ribbon outside his office at 945 SE. 4th Street in Hermiston, surrounded by his family.
“Thanks to my family,” said Bailey. “I also took this job because of the incredible team, especially Kathleen and Tammy (Sr. Branch Office Administrators Kathleen Raw and Tami Turley), who are the first ones people talk to when they call the office.”
Following the ribbon-cutting, the Hermiston Chamber hosted an open house with pizza courtesy of Bailey and Ye Olde Pizza Shoppe.
