UMATILLA COUNTY, Ore.-Some evacuation levels have been increased due to the Hagen Fire and a public meeting on the Paradise, Hagen, and Horse Ridge fires is scheduled for this weekend.

The new LEVEL 3 area includes east of NF Road 3715, south of Highway 204, west of the Umatilla – Union county line, including Langdon Lake, Blue Mountain Camp, and McDougall Camp.

Updated LEVEL 3 evacuation area includes the area NORTH of the Mt. Emily Summit Road intersection and west of Highway 204 in Union County.
The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch, with dry, hot, and windy conditions expected on Saturday, August 1, and the evacuation levels were increased to ensure the safety of any residents in the area, according to the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO).

A public meeting on the Paradise, Hagen, and Horse Ridge Fires is scheduled for 6 p.m. August 2 at the Elgin Community Center at 260 North 10th Street.
The public is invited to the in-person meeting, and a livestream option will be available. The meeting will also be uploaded to the Paradise, Hagen, and Horse Ridge Fire Information facebook page.
The Hagen Fire about 9 miles southwest of Tollgate, Oregon and about 12 miles northwest of Elgin, Oregon is now burning 35,427 acres and is 8% contained.
According to the daily update from Northwest Incident Management Team 7, fire crews are seeing some containment on the north side of the fire and will continue with structure protection and mop-up in that area.
The primary focus will be on the east part of the fire and will consist of improving containment lines along Bingham Road and north of the road in case the fire crosses the North Fork of the Umatilla River.
Successful burnouts were conducted on the western side of the fire the past couple days and crews in that area continue to work on containment and mop-up, according to Northwest Incident Management Team 7.
Fire crews are using heavy equipment to build containment along the southern edge of the fire.
