PENDLETON, Ore.-Community members are invited to a public open house for the City of Pendleton’s Urban Forest Management Plan on August 12 in the Vert Clubroom.

The Urban Forest Management Plan will guide how Pendleton protects, maintains and expands its tree canopy, according to the City.

All ages are welcome at the drop-in open house from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Attendees will be able to review maps and data, speak with project staff and provide feedback on priorities, challenges and opportunities related to Pendleton’s urban forest at the open house.

Urban forests consist of all the trees in cities and neighborhoods, including along city streets, parks, natural areas, and backyards.

According to the City of Pendleton, community input is essential in shaping a plan that supports environmental health, community well-being, and long-term resilience, and will help ensure the final Urban Forest Management Plan reflects local values and priorities.

More information about Pendleton’s urban forest management plan, including tree canopy assessment and goals, is available online through the City’s website.

The Vert Clubroom is located at 480 SW Dorian Avenue in Pendleton.
