Ray A. Fox died on June 2, 2013 at his home in Irrigon surrounded by his family at the age of 66.

He was born on June 19, 1946 in Prineville to Earl and Alice Fox. Ray met his wife Linda in Prineville and married her in Calgary B.C., Canada on July 4, 1978. He grew up in Bend and graduated from Bend High School in 1964. Ray was a supervisor at Coin Millwork until 1990. He attended Auctioneer School in Billings, Mont., and then managed, with his son, Jerry, The Dalles Auction Yard and co-owned the Weiser Livestock Auction. Ray moved to Irrigon in 1994 and worked at the West Extension Irrigation District for three years. He raised cattle all his life and has a feedlot in Irrigon. He enjoyed collecting John Deere tractors as well as working on them, and playing pinochle.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Jerry and his wife Becki and their son Tyler “Henry” Fox, all of Irrigon; daughter, Rachael Beem and her fiancee Steven of Salem; sister, Earlene and her husband Bob, Prineville; brothers-in-law, Jake Avenson and his wife Cindy, Bremerton, Wash., and Dan Avenson and Twila, Las Vegas; sisters-in-law, Sharon Lutz and husband Ron, Sand Point, Idaho, Donna Mower, Youngstown, Ohio, and Diana Mower, Prineville; six sisters and one brother, numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Trevor John Fox,; his parents, Earl and Alice Fox; his in-laws, Les and Iva Avenson, Larry Mower, Lanny Mower, and Donna and Wink Winkelman.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 2 p.m., at Columbia View Community Church in Irrigon.
