The fifth annual United Way Golf Tournament will be held on July 22 at the Wildhorse Championship Golf Course in Pendleton. The golf tournament benefits local nonprofit programs and services through the United Way of Umatilla & Morrow Counties.

The deadline to sign up is Monday, July 16 at 5 p.m. The 18-hole shamble will have a shotgun start at noon.

Each year, the United Way of Umatilla & Morrow Counties invests in local programs and services that build successful kids, enable seniors and disabled folks to live more independently, provide safe shelter and services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, assist families and individuals with basic needs (food, shelter, clothing, utilities, etc.) to help them get back on their feet and self-sufficient again.

The entry fees for the tournament are $100 per player or $400 per foursome team and includes greens fees, cart, range balls, tee prizes, lunch, non-alcoholic beverages and side bets (K.P., long putts and long drives).

The format is a four-person shamble in which teams count their two best scores per hole.

Sponsorship is available, as well. Opportunities are available to sponsor a tee, green or cart for $2,000. The package includes entry for a foursome in the tournament, company name/logo on tournament banners and printed materials at the tournament, and media mention.
