Umatilla Landing Days, the annual celebration of the heritage of the city of Umatilla, is June 22 and will feature activities from morning to night.
Starting with the McNary Dam Run at 7:30 a.m. at Spillway Park at McNary Lock and Dam and ending with a fireworks show – the first summer fireworks show in Eastern Oregon – Umatilla Landing Days has something for everyone. Most events are held at the Umatilla Marina Park, 1710 Quincy.
Here’s the schedule:
• 7:30 a.m.: McNary Dam Run at Spillway Park, McNary Lock and Dam. Money for the run will go to the local charity of your choice. Visit the Umatilla Chamber of Commerce website for an application. For more information, call Trish or Juan Martinez at (541) 310-7492.
• 10:30 a.m.: Umatilla Landing Days Parade. Line-up starts at 9:30 a.m. at Nugent Park, Eighth St., in Umatilla. The parade goes through Umatilla’s main drag from Nugent Park and end at Umatilla High School.
• 10 a.m. – dark: Vendors, bus and boat tours of Olde Town Umatilla, museum tours at the Umatilla Museum, entertainment, kids’ games and fireworks at 10 p.m. The boat tours are at the marina park. Bus tours can start at the marina park or at the Umatilla Museum on Sixth Street in Umatilla, next to Napa Auto Parts.
