A dense fog advisory is in effect for the Lower Columbia Basin area until 10 a.m. Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service, visibility is less than a quarter mile. Freezing fog could make for slick driving conditions. An air stagnation advisory is also in effect for the Lower Columbia Basin due to limited air movement. The air stagnation advisory is expected to remain in effect until Monday.
Patchy freezing fog is forecast through New Year’s Day. The high temperature for Saturday is expected to stay below freezing at 31 degrees with a low tonight of around 24 degrees. Temperatures should begin to creep up slightly Sunday and reach a high of 39 on Tuesday.
The dense fog advisory is expected to impact not only the Hermiston area, but as far west as The Dalles and north to the Tri-Cities and stretching to Connell and Prosser.
