Cheryl and Joe Taylor of Double T Farms selected Morrow County’s 4-H Program as their organization to support in the America’s Farmers Grow Communities contest.

Morrow County 4-H members and Ambassadors received the “America’s Farmers Grow Communities” funding from Monsanto representative Joseph Damen in the amount of $2,500 and from Joe & Cheryl Taylor of Double T Farms who recently won this contest and chose to donate the prize money to Morrow County 4-H.

America’s Farmers Grow Communities is sponsored by the Monsanto Fund to support local farming communities. The program, which launched in 2010, allows farmers to enter to win $2,500 for their favorite community nonprofit organization, such as 4-H, FFA, schools, fire departments and other groups. One winner was selected in each of the 1,289 eligible counties in 39 states.

Ashley Jones, OSU 4-H instructor had this reaction, “We are absolutely thrilled to receive this donation from the America’s Farmers Grow Communities fund from Monsanto,” said Ashley Jones, Oregon State University 4-H instructor. “This donation will provide support and scholarships for Morrow County 4-H members to attend local and regional 4-H leadership and learning events.”
The funding will also provide support for future programming efforts for youth within the county.

“We are extremely thankful for this monetary support that will go directly to providing to the 4-H program in Morrow County and the youth we serve,” Jones said. “We are extremely thankful to Joe and Cheryl Taylor of Double T Farms for selecting Morrow County 4-H as their chosen recipient.”
