Head Start Receives $110,000 Grant

Umatilla-Morrow County Head Start received $110,000 in grant money to expand one of its programs into Union County.

The Oregon Parent Education Collaborative grant will allow Head Start to provide evidenced-based parent education to families in Union County. Head Start has received grant money for the past three years to provide the service to families in Umatilla and Morrow counties.

The Oregon Parenting Education Collaborative is a multi-year grant program partnership among four of Oregon’s largest foundations – The Oregon Community Foundation, The Ford Family Foundation, Meyer Memorial Trust and The Collins Foundation – and Oregon State University. The $110,000 grant to Umatilla-Morrow County Head Start is part of the $1.6 million in grants to organizations around the state to support the delivery of high quality parenting education programs.
