William A. “Bill” Mootry died on Nov, 14, 2014 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 64.

He was born on May 14, 1950 in Pendleton to William C. and Betty Lou Morton Mootry. Bill was raised in Weston, Pendleton, and Hermiston. He graduated from Hermiston High School in the class of 1968. Bill then attended Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam until his honorable discharge. Bill then worked as a local and long haul truck driver for Quimby Trucking, J R Simplot, and he last worked for Lopez Trucking until his health forced him to retire. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, telling trucker stories, and most of all time with his family.

He is survived by his son,James Pooley and wife Jolene, Hermiston; daughter, Suellen Whitlock and husband Kris, Hermiston; brother, Mike Jeans, Ritzville, Wash.; and grandchildren, Alexa, Liam, Conner, and Brayden on the way.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters.
