U.S. Rep. Greg Walden (R-Hood River) will hold his first town hall meetings in 2015 beginning on Saturday, with meetings scheduled in seven counties including Umatilla. Hood River, Wasco, Wallowa, Union, Baker, and Malheur.
On Saturday, Walden will hold a Umatilla County town hall meeting in Pioneer Hall at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton beginning at 4 p.m.
“These town hall meetings are another way I keep in close touch with the concerns of Oregonians, along with regular telephone town halls, via Facebook, Twitter, and, of course, mail and email,” said Walden. “They help me develop my ‘to do’ list to take back to Washington, D.C. each week. I look forward to answering questions from the public and giving an update on local and national issues, including growing jobs in Oregon’s rural communities, reforming federal lands policy, and standing up for America’s veterans.”
Walden will give an update on bipartisan legislation to grow the economy and create jobs in America, including two bipartisan bills passed by the House last week to help veterans find jobs and lift burdens on American workers and small businesses.
