Otto Carl Reise Jr. (Pinky), former Hermiston resident of 42 years, passed away on Jan. 15, 2015 in Pendleton.
Mr. Reise was born on November 3, 1923 in Orting, Wash., to Otto Carl Reise Sr. and Florence Reed. After Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving as a gunner-loader/ship clerk on the USS Pennsylvania. Upon his return he farmed daffodils and tulips on the family farm in Puyallup Valley. In 1966 he married his wife of 52 years, Sharron Quinn. They finally settled in Hermiston. Mr. Reise was very involved working as a farm equipment salesman for John Deere in Umatilla County. After his retirement he started his own water purification business, Pure-n-Soft Water, which he passed on to his son Eric Reise.
He was a positive and inspiring man whose love of life reflected hope and light to others he cared for. His sense of humor, faith and determination was worn with a giant grin and topped off with a laugh. He will be remembered with love and respect by many.
He is survived by his wife, Sharron Reise; son, Eric Reise; daughter, Adriene Lorraine; stepsons, Brian and Casey Cunningham; stepdaughter, C. Nolan Quinn; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Otto was preceded in death by his parents, and a step son, Kelly Paul Cunningham.
A celebration of life service with military honors will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston.
