Hermiston's Lorraine Oman Passes Away at 92

Lorraine M. Oman of Hermiston died on May 23, 2015 in Hood River at the age of 92.

She was born on June 27, 1922 in Everett, Wash., to Charles and Anna Bishop Smith. Lorraine was raised, attended schools, and graduated high school in Everett, Wash. She was united in marriage to Floyd Andrew Oman in Everett. They lived in Banks and later Seaside before settling in Hermiston in 1951 where she has lived since. Lorraine enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafts, gardening, and the outdoors.

She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Richardson, Hermiston; 8 grandchildren, Anna, Jake, Angie, Aimee, Andy, Alex, Adam, & Abby; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Oman; son, Roger Floyd Oman; and 3 sisters, Helen Ness, Margaret Btaaten, and Fran Lambright.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston.
