Joan Elizabeth (Heric) St. John died Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 at her home at Sun Terrace Assisted living Facility in Hermiston just two days short of her 94th birthday.
She was born Dec. 13, 1921 at Yahk, British Columbia, Canada to Walter Lee & Rosalae Ellen (Minor) Heric.
Joan was raised Erickson, BC and moved to the United States in 1941. She worked at a logging camp in Montana where she met her future husband, James Clifford St. John. They were married July 4th, 1951 in Lewiston, Idaho. They lived in Eugene and Portland before moving to Hermiston in 1962. Joan worked as a X-Ray Technician for Doctor Roy P. Rasmussen and later for Good Shepherd Hospital until 1974 when she retired. Joan loved to fish, loved animals, had a sense of adventure and especially loved her family.
She is survived by her two Daughters, Michelle (Wendell) Hansen of Stanfield, OR and Cindee (Kim) Henderson of Hermiston, OR; 3 Grandchildren, Brianna Hansen, Justin (Ashley) Henderson, and Steve (Kassie) Henderson all of Hermiston, OR; 3 Great-grandchildren, Karleigh Records, Kaiden Henderson, and Kamden Henderson all of Hermiston, OR; Niece, Patti (Larry) Finegan of Gresham, OR; numerous nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 6 brothers and sisters.
A private family burial will take place at the Hermiston Cemetery.
