Umatilla County residents looking for job search assistance can find useful resources through their local library.

A new job search engine is available through all 12 Umatilla County public libraries. Library patrons can use LearningExpress Library, a service provided by the Oregon Statewide Database Licensing Program, to search the Job & Career Accelerator Center. This new feature allows access to over 5 million job postings—aggregating from the leading job boards, government and corporate sites, online classifieds, recruitment sites and more—all from one single search.

In addition to job postings, the Job & Career Accelerator Center allows users unsure of an occupation to explore and pursue possible occupations. The center can help users with updating or creating resumes and cover letters, tips for filling out job application forms, and preparing for job interviews.

Staff at any of the public libraries in the County can assist users in getting started with using any of the features in LearningExpress Library.

Formed in 1986 and governed by a five-member voter-elected Board of Directors, the Umatilla County Special Library District (UCSLD) is an independent taxing district funded by taxpayer dollars. UCSLD’s mission is to support the development of public libraries in Umatilla County to provide services, programs, and continuing educational opportunities to individuals of all ages, thereby strengthening their communities through individual, family, economic, and community development.
