Hermiston's Eldon Enright Passes Away at 74

Eldon L. Enright died on May 8, 2016 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 74.

He was born on Nov. 4, 1941 in Pendleton to Louis and Aletta Joines Enright. Eldon was raised and attended schools in Pendleton, Oregon. He graduated from high school and joined the United States Navy. Eldon served during Vietnam until his honorable discharge when he returned to Pendleton, Oregon. He moved to Alaska and served as the fire chief in Metlakatla for several years. Eldon married Jill Hayward on February 14, 1984 in Ketchikan, Alaska. They moved to Arizona in 1990 and then to Hermiston in 1995 where they have lived since. Eldon worked at Wal Mart and the Eagles Lodge in Hermiston. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife: Jill Enright, Hermiston, OR; sons: Dwayne Enright, Maple Valley, WA, Sean Enright, Juneau, Alaska, & Chad Enright, Hermiston, OR; sister: Ninette Jackson & her husband Steve, Hermiston, OR; brother: David Enright, Weiser, ID; several grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Rhonda Whipple, brothers: Tom and Larry Enright and an infant brother.

A celebration of life potluck gathering will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at McNary Park in Umatilla.
