The Hermiston Parks and Recreation Department is encouraging children ages 9 to 18 to take part in a community theater presentation of The Jungle Book, sponsored by the Desert Arts Council.
Participants will learn stage presence, voice control and acting techniques. The classes will last two months from Sept. 19 to Nov. 18 in preparation for the community performance.
The classes, taught by Jenny Walker, will take place Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. at the Hermiston Conference Center. The cost is $50 for Hermiston residents and $63 for non-residents.
