Blue Mountain Community College will introduce around 250 students to all the college has to offer during its third annual Welcome to the Pack new student orientation event on Friday, Sept. 23.
Welcome to the Pack is an opportunity for students new to BMCC to meet faculty and staff, take in a sample class (“The Calculus of Driving to Portland,” anyone?), locate where on campus your classes will take place, learn about BMCC resources and programs, and participate in some fun activities while meeting other new students. Those attending will also receive a free lunch and have opportunities to win scholarships, a tablet and other items.
Previous years’ data indicates that students who participate in Welcome to the Pack are more likely to persist from one term to the next at BMCC, as well as be more successful in their classes.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 23, with check-in beginning at 9:30 a.m.
