The public is invited to visit the Betty Feves Memorial Art Gallery now through March 16 to view the artistic talents of Idaho artist Laura Ahola-Young.

Ahola-Young develops the imagery in her paintings, then covers and reworks them with glazes, scraping and mark-making. Her paintings are centered on land, science and inquiry.

“For me, knowledge is always asking additional questions,” Ahola-Young says.

Ahola-Young received her Master of Fine Arts degree from San Jose State University in California and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in Minnesota.

In Pocatello, she is an assistant professor of art at Idaho State University.

Prior to living in Idaho, Ahola-Young was an adjunct instructor of Fine Arts at Lane Community College in Eugene. For more information about her work, go online.

In a departure from the normal exhibit openings in the Feves Gallery, the Gallery will host a Closing Reception on the last day of the exhibit on March 16 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
