The Oregon Washington Health Network will present the Behavioral Health Community Forum on Nov. 2 at Blue Mountain Community College.
The 90-minute planning session will focus on patient experiences with the existing behavioral health systems of care and how we can work towards improving these systems in Northeast Oregon.
The forum, which will run from 6:30-8 p.m. in Room 200 of BMCC’s Science and Technology Building on the Pendleton campus, is funded through a federal grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration.
Free transportation will be available to the forum courtesy of Kayak.
This public forum will discuss substance abuse, veterans’ mental health needs, suicide and mental illness. Feedback will be provided following the forum to local health leaders to help improve services moving forward. Panelists include Amy Ashton Williams from Umatilla County Social Services, Becky Greear, director of Behavioral Health Services at Yellowhawk Tribal Health Center, Micaela Cathey of Lifeways, and Joyce Bailey, Vice President of Patient Care at CHI St. Anthony Hospital.
The forum is sponsored by Yellowhawk Tribal Health, Lifeways, Inc., BMCC, Oregon Washington Health Network, CHI St. Anthony Hospital, and the Umatilla County Health Department.
