It didn’t take long for Christopher Scott, D.C., to determine where he would like to practice chiropractic medicine.

“I wanted to come home and give back to the community that has given me so much over the years,” Scott said. “I want to be a role model for our high school and college students, and others by encouraging them to set goals and helping them achieve their dreams.”

During his time at Hermiston High School and college, Scott played many sports and received numerous injuries.

“I played running back in high school and college football and ran sprints and pole vaulted during track season,” he said. “I remember after a motocross injury, being in so much pain and hardly being able to walk. A local chiropractor helped relieve my pain and encouraged me to keep riding, so I did. I want to give that same pain relief and encouragement to others.”

According to Vice President of Good Shepherd Medical Group (GSMG) Troy LeGore, Scott will be part of a comprehensive pain management program and will be joining Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist John Groner, M.D., and Medication Manager Julie Hughes, FNP.

LeGore said that this comprehensive practice will be the perfect fit for Scott.

“As a Hermiston native, Dr. Scott understands this community and its needs,” said LeGore. “As a chiropractor with a masters degree in sports medicine, he definitely understands pain from the musculoskeletal perspective and I know will provide a great service for our community.”

Scott said his experience as an athlete will help him serve his patients.

“Being a current competing athlete myself of many forms, I not only understand pain related injuries but have firsthand experience dealing with them myself,” Scott said. “This provides me with a unique ability and perspective to properly assess and treat these injuries. I work well with bikers, runners, weightlifters, blue-collar laborers and even those not physically active. I use a diversified manipulation style in conjunction with rehabilitative exercises and neurological training programs.”

Scott enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, riding dirt bikes, and training for his next competition or race.

Scott is now welcoming new patients at the Good Shepherd Medical Group located at 600 NW 11th Street, in Hermiston. To schedule an appointment call 541.567.5305.
