Altrusa International of Hermiston recently installed new officers to serve for the new Altrusa year.
The installation was held on May 31, 2018, at the home of member Briana Cortaberria. Past President Nancy Lauck opened the event with the Altrusa Grace after which a dinner was served. Two past active charter members, Margaret Saylor and Pat Wheelhouse, who helped form the Hermiston club over 40 years ago, shared a few remarks before the new officers were installed.
The new president will be Dawn Long; First Vice-President Lindsay Lloyd, Second Vice-President Stephanie Hughes, Secretary Alexis McCarthy, and Treasurer Mary Winebarger. New board members LuAnn Davison and Kim Mills will join Nancy Lauck, Ladonna Quaempts, and Katie Saul on the club board.
Altrusa meets at 12-1 p.m at the ARC of Umatilla building on the first, third, and fourth Thursdays of each month. You are welcome to stop by for a visit and see what the service group is planning for the surrounding community. As a member, you would have an opportunity to lend your talents to one of the following committees: International Relations, Community Service, Literacy, and Vocational Services.
