Robert W. “Bob” Willard of Hermiston passed peacefully on July 4, 2018 at his residence at Guardian Angel Homes in Hermiston at the age of 91.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1926 in Wamic to William and Ivy Willard.
Bob attended school in Wallula, Wash. He joined the United States Navy during World War II and was stationed onboard the USS Fergus. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he was hired at the Umatilla Army Depot as an electrician where he spent his whole career, retiring in 1983.
Bob was an avid archer and enjoyed archery competitions and hunting with a bow. Probably his most prized possession was a hand-crafted wooden bow, which was proudly displayed on the wall of his room at Guardian Angel. He was also ready for a game of cribbage anytime he could find someone who could play.
Bob is survived by his stepdaughter, Linda McCoy; his son-in-law, Terry McCoy; and his granddaughter, Tana McCoy.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Agnes, in 2009.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Guardian Angel Homes for the love and care you gave Bob. You are very much appreciated.
Services are pending.
Those who wish may make contributions in Bob’s memory to Guardian Angel Homes, 540 N.W. 12th St., Hermiston, Ore., 97838.
