Since 2009 the Little Free Library has been encouraging book access with book exchange stations. Today, readers of all ages leave a book and take a book at thousands of Little Free Libraries in over 80 countries.

Altrusa International of Hermiston has sponsored several in Hermiston and now has provided a Little Free Library program kit to the Echo Kiwanis Club. Tonia Barzee will maintain the new Echo Little Free Library outside of her family’s H&P Cafe on Main Street. Books suitable for all ages are welcome. Donations accepted at the H&P Cafe.

ARC Fabrication LLC has donated a custom steel stand for the library and the Echo Girl Scouts have gathered and donated the first box of books. The H&P Cafe, as part of the dedication, is offering a free cupcake or ice cream cone for those who read and trade books until school starts on Aug. 27.
