Hermiston School District Superintendent Mooney received notification that she is a candidate to serve on a statewide board or commission under Gov. Kate Brown.
On Nov. 19, Mooney will appear before the Senate Rules Committee. The committee will convene to interview and make a recommendation to the full Senate regarding potential candidates that are being considered to serve on statewide boards and commissions.
If confirmed, Dr. Mooney will have the opportunity to participate in statewide decision-making processes on the Quality Education Commission.
“I feel very honored to be a nominee,” said Mooney. “I am excited about the opportunity to learn and contribute to the tasks at hand that our state is facing. If confirmed, I feel indebted to do my best to represent Eastern Oregon.”
