State Police Seeking ‘Person of Interest’ in Shooting in Heppner

The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office has asked the Oregon State Police to take over an investigation into a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 15 in Heppner.

Just before 9:30 p.m., on Tuesday, the Morrow County Communications Center received reports of shots fired. When sheriff’s office deputies arrived on scene, they found a 42-year-old female with a gunshot wound.  She was transported to area hospital before being Lifeflighted to OHSU in critical condition.

OSP is currently looking for David Bowles as a person of interest in this case. His location is unknown. He was last seen driving a brown Chevy Impala with an Oregon license plate URG552.  Bowles, 43, is a 5’6, weighs about 180 pounds, with graying hair and blue eyes.

The OSP says Bowles is to be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who knows of his location should not confront him, but instead call 911 or OSP Dispatch 800-442-2068 and reference OSP case # SP200348879.
