The city of Hermiston announced on its Facebook page that the Oregon Department of Transportation will soon begin a project to extend the center turn lane between W. Madrona Ave. and W. Linda Ave. on NW 11th Street (Highway 207).
Adding the turn lane will eliminate curbside parking, improve visibility, and create a safe place for motorists to make a left turn onto side streets.
Work is expected to take one to two weeks and motorists should use caution as flaggers will be at the site to direct traffic through closed lanes.
Thank goodness curbside parking will finally be eliminated making visibility possible again.
