The National Weather Service out of Pendleton issued two weather advisories Friday morning as wind chills are forecast to reach 10 below zero in the Lower Columbia Basin and surrounding areas.
The weather service issued both a winter weather advisory and a wind chill advisory around 3:30 a.m. The wind chill advisory was expected to last until 10 a.m. this morning, and the winter weather advisory is in effect until 4 a.m. on Saturday.
The weather service forecast additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations around a tenth of an inch. Motorists should expect slick road conditions which could impact morning and evening commutes.
Snow is expected to fall off and on today through Monday before a warming trend turns the snow to rain.
