The city of Pendleton is launching a flood awareness campaign to help residents prepare for any flood-related events.

“Planning for any type of emergency event is foremost,” said Public Works Director Bob Patterson. “In the case of flooding, visit ready.gov and have plastic Visqueen and duct tape on hand to help protect your structure.”

To give residents more information about steps they can take early, the new flood preparation campaign includes a new page on the city’s website and social media postings. As part of the campaign, the city has also partnered with Elkhorn Media to produce a flood awareness video specific to the city of Pendleton.

The video covers areas at risk of flooding within the city, what to do before and during a flood event, locations of sandbag stations and information on additional resources. The flood awareness video went live on Friday, Feb. 3.
