The Families First Childcare Center in Boardman is holding a Summer Safety Fair today, June 15, at the Neal Early Learning Center.

The event is open to the public and goes from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will include a variety of activities and free services.

Those attending will learn about keeping safe in the water, on a boat, in the sun, on bikes and more.

A limited number of free items will be given out including a variety of car seats, bike helmets and life jackets.

There will also be free car seat checks, bike helmet checks and a free light dinner with hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available.

Those attending will also have the chance to sign up for the library’s summer program.

Brenda Profitter of the Families First Childcare Center said this will be the first Summer Safety Fair to be held. The fair was made possible through a grant from the Blue Mountain Early Learning Hub to provide safety equipment to children.

Multiple agencies and organizations will be on hand this evening including the Boardman Police Department, Boardman Fire and Rescue District, North Morrow Vector Control District, Scott’s Cycle, Morrow County Health Department and more.

“I’m just really grateful to all the agencies that have agreed to help out,” Profitter said.

The Neal Early Learning Center is located at 255 Olson Road in Boardman.
