Aleen Deschamps Passes Away at 87

Aleen Marie Deschamps of Ridgefield, Wash. passed away in Clackamas on Sept. 26, 2024 at the age of 87.

She was born on Aug. 3, 1937 in Emmett, Idaho the fourth child and the first daughter of 12 children born to Morris and Beulah Pulley Browning.

Aleen moved to Hermiston with her family in the early 1940s, where she grew up and attended school. She met William Deschamps while at a dance at the Umatilla Army Depot and the couple were united in marriage on July 3, 1954 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.

Aleen and William traveled around the Pacific Northwest following his heavy highway construction work for many years. They settled in Ridgefield, Wash. in 1968, where she had lived until her passing. Aleen stayed at home to raise her children and tend to the needs of the household. She loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed her relationships with her parents and her siblings.

She is survived by a son, Doug Deschamps; daughter, Tonya Mertens; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dallas Browning, Gary Browning, Tommie Browning and Randal Browning; three sisters, Dorothy Melby, Joan Tidyman and Debra Rosenberg; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; two daughters, Cathy Renee Deschamps and Michelle Marie Deschamps; her son, William Calen Deschamps; and brothers, Derald, Keith, Howard and Larry Browning.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024 at the Hermiston Cemetery.

Family suggests memorial donations be made in her memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
