Alice Marie Boget of Hermiston, former Vancouver, Wash. resident, died on May 8, 2024 in Hermiston at the age of 92.
She was born on Sept. 14, 1931 in Belvidere, Ill. to Virgil and Helen Billeter Young.
Alice grew up in Missouri, moving to Illinois at the age of 12 with her mother and sister after her father was killed in a fire at their home. She married John Boget on June 8, 1948. Alice worked as a bookkeeper after being a stay-at-home mom for many years. They lived in nine states during their 71 years but loved Oregon the most. They traveled to every state except Alaska during their 71 years of marriage.
She and John loved to camp, hike, square dance and listen to country music. Alice and John loved family time the most, hosting many family gatherings over the years, which always included competitive card and board games. Their favorite saying was, “The family that plays together stays together.”
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy, Terrie, and Karen; sister, Marilyn; brother, Gene; grandchildren, Chris, Tammy, Michael, Jennifer, Brooke and Brian;16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 9, 2019 and son, Walter John Boget, on April 6, 2018.
