Lita L. “Alita” Connell of Hermiston died on Nov. 4, 2019 in Hermiston at the age of 76.
She was born on Jan. 5, 1943 in La Grande.
She was raised and attended school in La Grande. Alita was united in marriage to Earl W. Connell Sr. on Nov. 25, 1961 in La Grande. They lived in Boardman for 30 years, and Alita worked at Lamb Weston for 17 years in packaging. They moved to Hermiston in 2004, where they have lived since.
She enjoyed camping with family and friends, trips to the cabin, listening to country music, bowling, swimming, vacationing at the coast, shopping, and trips to Sumpter with friends. She loved the rain and watching westerns with Earl. Alita cherished time with her husband, children and grandchildren and supporting them in their sporting events and school activities.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Earl Sr.; daughter, Gloria; sons, Earl Jr., Mike, Sam and James; brother, Shean; grandchildren, Nichole, Cody, Jordan, Sammy, Emily, Shyanne, Mikey, Nathaniel, Gracie and Bronson; great granddaughter, Finlee; uncle, David; nieces, Anita and Heidi; and nephews, Kelly, Edward, Terry and Billy.
Alita was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Loos; sisters, Mary Ellen and Nita; and brothers, Mike and Johnny.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.
