Alvin L. Patterson, 59, of Hermiston, was born on August 5, 1954 in Ontario, Oregon. He was found on April 30, 2014 near Alderdale, Washington. Alvin was raised in the Jordan Valley until the age of 10 when the family moved to Springfield, Oregon where he graduated high school. He lived in Madras, Oregon for several years and then Arizona for 15 years. Alvin moved to Hermiston in 1998 where he has lived since.

He worked at the Wal-Mart DC for 9 years and then as a taxi driver in Hermiston for a year and was currently working in maintenance at the Wal-Mart Store in Hermiston. Alvin married Lori Moses on March 12, 2005 in Pendleton. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and football (avid Tennessee Titan fan). Alvin enjoyed time with his family & friends and cherished time with his grandchildren. Alvin was a member of the Country Church.

He is survived by his wife,Lori Patterson, Hermiston; father, Robert Patterson & his wife Juanita, Springfield; sons, Scott Patterson & wife Jessica, Sweet Home, Chris Patterson & wife Teresa, Madras, Noah Patterson, Tempe, AZ; daughter, Kara Castrejon & husband Jorge, Bakersfield, CA; stepchildren, Hollie Pawlak & husband Ryan, Kennewick, WA., and Brian Hellinger, Hermiston; brothers, Terry Patterson, Salem, and Ted Patterson, Boardman; stepbrothers and stepsisters, David Patterson, Jordan Valley, OR, Randy Barker, Rebecca Barker, and Deanna Benjamin, all of Klamath Falls, OR; and 9 grandchildren.

Alvin was preceded in death by his mother, Ramona Hoag.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11 a.m.at the Country Church, Hermiston
